My Sassy Settler Willamette Wives, Book Two By Maggie Ryan

Willamette Wives, Book Two
By Maggie Ryan

What should be a wonderful new adventure for newlyweds Wyatt and Agatha Wilcox is not turning out quite the way they'd hoped. Wyatt's dreams of building a new life with the girl he'd met and wed while traveling on the Oregon Trail are turning into a nightmare. He loves his wife dearly but has no idea how to reach her.

Agatha knows she isn't the wife that Wyatt dreamed of. Despite her deep love for this man, she just finds it impossible to cast aside all the words and damnation she'd been hearing from her stepfather for the past year. Her hope that she'd find a fresh start as Mrs. Wilcox, and her excitement at the idea of settling into their first home on a ranch they're going to help build, are overshadowed by the fact that her Ma is no longer with her, and the knowledge that she is not the pure and innocent woman Wyatt deserves. She knows she is a sinner; a woman too weak and too selfish to let the man she loves go free.

Dangers in this newly settled land aren't limited to the bears and wild cats that roam the forests and mountains of the Willamette Valley. The deep cold of winter is coming, and the ranch's inhabitants need to prepare. It is with the help of friends, their partners in building The Double R Ranch—affectionately known as The Rose Ranch to its founders—that things come to a head between Agatha and Wyatt, and their first steps toward a new life are taken. Will the couple find their way past the hatred spewed by a self- proclaimed preacher to find that, together, they have the strength and the love to build the lives they each had envisioned?

With patience and love, will Agatha learn to trust that this man would never let her down? What will Wyatt think when he discovers that, beneath her fear, he not only wed a wonderful woman, but he has wed his own Sassy Settler?

My Sassy Settler is the second book in the Willamette Wives series, and also continues the story of Anna and Richard, Charity and James, and other characters first introduced in Maggie Ryan's bestselling book: His Passionate Pioneer.

Excerpt

"Go ahead and take off your apron," he instructed as he moved away.
Obeying, she untied the bow at her back and then hung the apron on its hook. Her hands itched to at least pour the water over the dishes but his next words had all thoughts of housekeeping flying from her mind.
"Come here, Agatha."
Looking towards him, she saw that he had moved his chair out from the table. He'd taken a seat and was holding out his hand. Swallowing hard, she took the first step that would change the dynamic of their marriage. Walking to him, she stopped when she reached his side.
"Do you remember why you are going to be spanked?"
"Y-yes," she whispered.
"Yes, what?"
"Yes, sir, I remember."
"Good." He patted his lap. "Right over now."
She could feel her face flush but obediently bent to lie across his knees. A soft gasp escaped her as she felt unbalanced but he put an arm around her waist and pulled her tighter against his body.
"I've got you, darlin'. I won't let you fall. Put your hands flat on the floor."
Planting her hands on the floor, she realized that the only contact possible with her feet were the very tips of her boots, and yet she felt secure. That was until he began to lift her skirts.
"What are you doing?" she gasped.
"Baring your bottom for your spanking," he answered, her skirts and petticoats lifting higher.
"But…"
"Exactly," he said as he laid the yards of fabric onto her back. "Your little butt is my target, and I'll need to see it to deliver your spanking."
"My Pa never—"
"Agatha, I'm not your Pa. I am your husband. I told you that spankings given to a child differ from those given to a wife. I'm also telling you that I will be the one to decide not only how to position you, but how your clothing will be adjusted if you are wearing any."
Wearing any? Surely he couldn't mean… Her thoughts were interrupted when she felt the tie at the back of her waist being tugged at. "What are you doing?"

Maggie Ryan

Author for Blushing Books.  I write both contemporary erotica and historical spanking romances.  I enjoy writing about characters that enjoy the provocative D/S lifestyle of today’s times as well as taking a step back into the past to write stories that take place in the Victorian era with age-play as a theme.
I live in the great Lone Star state with my wonderful husband.  I have always loved reading.  Growing up in a family with four children, it was difficult finding a place to be alone.  I was probably one of the squeakiest clean girls on the planet as I would spend hours in the tub so I could read without being bothered.  It wasn’t long before I began to make up my own endings to the books I was reading.  From there, it just seemed natural to begin writing my own stories.
I never try to restrict myself to any one genre because there are just too many delicious possibilities out there and inside my head.  I admit to being somewhat of a romantic though as my stories always must have a great deal of love, passion, corporal discipline and, of course, great, mind-blowing sex.  I want my readers to be able to see, hear, feel and know the characters that I’m creating as well as I do when I bring them to life and transfer their stories to paper.  I want my women to be strong of character but also strong enough to know that submission given in love and trust to your partner does not make you weaker, it makes you far stronger. I want my men to be sexy, strong, demanding alpha males who know how to take what they want while acknowledging it is a gift they have been blessed with by the women that have chosen to submit to them.  I want there to be no doubt that they truly would die for the other no matter how others might view their relationship.

Fire Licked by Allison West

Fire Licked
by Allison West
Publisher: Blushing Books
Released: November 5, 2015
Who doesn’t love a sexy, dominant fireman?
After a tough breakup, Lexa Mae decides she needs a change. From the southern plains of South Dakota to the Big Apple, Lexa books a hotel room and spa package at the prestigious Sterling Hotel in Times Square.
Looking forward to a relaxing getaway, Lexa’s fun is spoiled the moment handsome fireman Jules Sinclair knocks on her door, ordering an evacuation.  Wearing nothing but a towel, she slams the door in his face, unwilling to leave just yet.
Forced from the hotel as an explosion rocks the seventh floor, Lexa has managed to secure her dress but no panties as the handsome fireman Jules rescues her from the burning flames. With no friends in the city and her belongings destroyed, she has nowhere else to go.
Jules invites Lexa to the fire station, offering her clothes, shelter, and even a hard spanking for dismissing his order to evacuate.
Will she learn to submit to Jules or is the heat just too much?

EXCERPT
A loud knocking pounded at the door. “NY Fire Department!” A voice shouted as he knocked on her door.
“Shit!” She shut the shower off and grabbed a white towel, wrapping it around her torso. Lexa walked to the door, poking her head out.
A man, dressed in a NYFD outfit stood with his helmet on. “Ma’am, you need to evacuate the building.”
“What? Why?” Lexa asked, cinching the towel to her chest.
His blue eyes were captivating. His New York accent entrancing.
“Can’t say. We’ve been ordered to evacuate the entire premises.”
“That’s absurd!” Lexa huffed. “Let me get my clothes on.” She didn’t give him time to object. She slammed the door in his face, dropped her towel, and stalked back to the bathroom to get her dress back on.
From inside the bathroom, she pulled the little black dress on over her head, reaching for her panties when the ground rumbled as an explosion rocked the seventh floor of the hotel, drowning the entire floor in flames and smoke, and tossing her against the wall.

Come Back To Me At Christmas by Keriann McKenna

Today we have a special Christmas story, Come Back To Me At Christmas by Keriann McKenna. I am so excited for this one, I love a good Christmas story.

Blurb:

Patty misses her husband dearly and dreams of him coming home for Christmas. When she shares her dream with her children, they become increasingly worried as Patty goes between present day and her cherished memories.

Her children gather to decide how to help her handle the disappointment and comfort her when he doesn't show up. After all, it was only a dream.

Convinced she was losing her grip on reality and shouldn't live alone any longer, they decide to wait until after the holidays before making any major changes in her life.

But Christmas Day brings a shocking surprise—to everyone but Patty. This is a heartwarming, funny, and touching story that will have you believing in miracles.

Excerpt:

Her frail fingers traced the lines in the bark and she remembered thebeautiful spring day Michael came home from work early.

Michael rushed into the kitchen and grabbed her hand.  Hurrying her out of the house and down the path to the tree, he lifted her, sat her in the crook of it.  He smiled up at her. His boots kicked the dirt under his feet, his hands sunk into his pockets, and he clearly was struggling to find the right words to say to her.

“I don’t tell you near enough how much I love you.”

“I love you too,” she answered, wondering where this conversation was

“No, I love you more than I ever believed I could love anyone.  I love our family and this farm.  Of all the places I’ve been in my life, I finally feel like I’m home.  Darlin’, I just want you to know I’ve never been happy with my life until now...until you.  Come here.”

He reached up and lifted her down into his arms.  The kiss...it came from his soul and she knew it.  It was like no other and one she would never forget.  There were no words to describe it; it spoke without words—from his heart and his soul—and anyone who had ever been kissed that way would know exactly what she was talking about.

The tree had grown and the bark was rough, sort of like Michael.  Not in a bad way.  He was always gentle with her and the children, but he was not a man to be messed with.  He wasn’t tall, but his muscular body was evident even through his clothes.  His smile and his laugh would light up a room.  He and he alone lit up Patty’s heart.  He was truly the love of her life.

The Protagonist by Bella Bryce

 The Protagonist

Daisy Abbott is an author as eccentric as she is successful. She's also used to a certain rhythm when it comes to her writing: she sits at her desk, the hero speaks, she writes. Book done. After all, that's how she wrote thirty titles and she doesn't expect anything to be different during the working of her thirtyfirst manuscript. Daisy is convinced the protagonist of her newest book isn’t speaking to her and when he appears in the flesh to challenge her, she is transported to his time and place to better understand things from his perspective. The question is, whose story is it?

Bella Bryce

I am a British writer of niche market fiction in the domestic discipline genre. My first duty is to write a compelling story with strong characterisation and dialogue that makes you feel involved. It just so happens that all of these elements are in a genre that is otherwise on the underside of the internet and is given very little credit for its literary merit.

Excerpt:

Daisy watched William retreat down the path toward the tent and took his instructions as permission to hide behind the rose bushes, and also to accept the Champagne offered to her by royal servants floating about the gardens. From where she stood, Daisy could see everyone but she was certain not everyone could see her. She watched William bow to the King and Queen and then offer another bow to Georgina. For someone who seemed so sure of his love for the girl, he certainly hid it well. Georgina didn’t even blush when she looked at him. She was on her second. Champagne and prepared to stash the flutes at the base of the shrubbery when a royal

servant with a tray appeared beside her, again. She didn’t jump or seem surprised even as his presence caught her offguard. The alcohol had already begun to seep into her reflexes.

“Oh, it’s you.” She looked at the tray he was holding with a further ten flutes of Champagne but when she saw the servant looking at the ones she’d stashed in the bushes, Daisy slowly lowered herself in the large gown and collected the flutes before depositing them on the tray. The servant cleared his throat and promptly turned like a toy soldier and marched away. Daisy watched the royal servant ascend a set of stone stairs nearby leading to a side entrance into the palace. She raised her eyebrows. “Guess who will have the most accurate description of a palace in modern writing? This girl.”

Before Daisy could abandon the wall of rose bushes, but the sight of William approaching caused her to stay put and pretend to be inspecting them carefully. She assumed he wouldn’t approve of her following the servant into the palace. She narrowed her eyes when William got nearer but a hiccup gave her away.

“I see.”

Daisy suddenly abandoned the practice of being interested in the roses. “You left me unattended.”

William put his hands behind his back. “I was doing my duty by greeting the King and Queen. I will soon need to speak to others in my father’s absence.”

“Do I have to stay on your arm and fan my face?”

“No. You need to observe. We will go over it all this evening after you’ve written it out.”

“What with?”

“Parchment and ink. There is no fire wall here.”

Daisy knew he was referring to electricity and was even a little impressed he had the right words and intention, even though the idea wasn’t quite correct.

“So you want me to spy?”

William stepped closer. “You must stop using questionable terms, Daisy.”

“Questionable?”

“Unless you have already forgotten the year, you will keep words like Georgina, spy, my flat last night and questions like may I remove my bonnet? out of conversation, especially in public. It is not appropriate.”

Maiden Series: Palace Secrets Book Two by Ravyn Rayne

Today we welcome back Ravyn Rayne with the MaidenSeries: Palace Secrets Book Two

Blurb:

It was supposed to be a simple trip to the market in Paris.

Nothing for Lady Hannah is ever simple.

One secret after another.

The lies are mounting up.

Lady Hannah has made a deal with the devil. Worse she’s falling in love with him. There’s no turning back.

A steamy medieval romance filled with spankings and erotic pleasures.

Excerpt:

“How about I ask you one question, anything and you have to answer it honestly. Then, I’ll do the same.”

My eyes move from the night sky to Lucas. There’s no way I’d go first. After I divulge whatever secret he wants information to, he’d clam up. “Only if you go first.” I’m not even sure I like the idea of such a game. What if he asks me something I truly shouldn’t answer? Like my relationship with Ella must be kept a secret. I barely know Lucas, and I do not wish to end up convicted of treason.

“What, you don’t trust me?” he asks, resting a hand over his heart.

“Yeah, that’s right. You want to blackmail me over Annette’s arrival at court. I think I have enough reason not to trust you.”

A Character Interview with Hannah

Do you ever feel jealous of the queen, your former mistress and friend?

She’s still very much my friend. Sometimes late at night I’m jealous of the romance between Ella and Alexander, but I’ve come to accept my position at court. As for Ella being queen, that’s a job I would never want.

How hard is it for you to keep a secret?

Lies mounting up will get you caught. The goal is to weave a tale of truths into the secret so that you remember every detail. There are times I wish I didn’t have to keep secrets, but my life and those I love depend on it. I know how to keep my mouth shut. It’s not easy but I’m careful.

You travel to Paris quite a bit. Do you like it there?

It’s absolutely beautiful. There’s a wealth of silk, jewels, and other fine goods at the market that I can’t easily get

What do you think about the men in Paris?

I avoid most of them as best I can. If I brought a gentleman back to the palace, Ella or Alexander would likely have my head.
